Tom Jonckers – BXL-architecten
Founded in 2007 as a multidisciplinary architecture and design office, Tom Jonckers – BXL-architecten operates across different scale levels (ranging from industrial design and interior, to architecture and urban planning). This broad design spectrum makes it possible to create unique cross-relations between these different disciplines and to constantly transcend the boundaries between them. The office (under)consciously searches for the cross-sections and uses them as a platform for a broader design context.
Whether it concerns the design of a piece of furniture, interior, home or master plan, every new assignment is approached from its specificity and studied as broadly as possible. From the very beginning, ambition checks are constantly carried out by means of a permanent interaction (between client and designer). This ensures that every design, in addition to a strong substantive and conceptual development, also becomes a concrete feasible project.
Today, the office has a broad portfolio of projects within different scales in addition to many new clients, a wide network of returning clients has also emerged over the years giving confidence to take on their new projects and challenges together.

Architect - Msc. Urban Planning and Design
Tom Jonckers founded the architecture and design office BXL-architecten in 2007. He studied architecture at the Sint-Lucas Institute of Architecture in Brussels (2001) and continued his studies at the Technical University in Eindhoven, where he graduated in 2003 with an Msc in Urban Planning and Design.
After his studies, he worked successively as a designer and architect at Maxwan architects and urbanists in Rotterdam (2003-2005) and B-architecten in Antwerp (2005-2007).
During this period, he is also active on his own projects in design and architecture competitions (1st place "inside the bathroom" competition in Milan (2003), laureate "teenage furniture" competition in Milan (2005), laureate Watchtower NPHK-competition (2006), 2nd Place office-concept I-merge bvba (2006), …).
Today he heads the office and is responsible for designing, developing and supervising the projects from A to Z according to the principle: "first man in and last man out".
